Though strides have been made to address the complexity of paying for health care, it’s still a common source of stress and confusion for consumers. I recently joined the Outcomes Rocket podcast to share insights about Banner|Aetna’s frictionless billing solution and to highlight other initiatives aimed at improving the member health care experience.
Frictionless billing is a groundbreaking program from Banner|Aetna that simplifies the process of paying for health care for members. It combines insurance and billing data into a single source of truth, removing complexity and enhancing transparency. Features like payment status updates and a concierge customer service line provide a seamless experience, eliminating surprise bills and setting a new industry standard for transparent, user-friendly billing.
During the episode, we also explored some of the other innovations Banner|Aetna has invested in, like our diabetes reversal program. The highly individualized program is helping members get their lives back, and all the data so far has shown excellent health outcomes for our members.
We also touched on the necessity of prior authorization reform, which remains a complex challenge. Banner|Aetna is making incremental strides to simplify the process each year with the goal of taking the burden off the shoulders of our members to improve their health care journey.
The podcast also discussed how Banner|Aetna has become the fastest-growing health plan in Arizona since launching. We expanded into the ACA individual marketplace in 2022 to extend our reach, which is helping us create a broader impact in the state.
